My outlook on treatment aims to help individuals deepen their relationships with others while fostering a greater capacity for self-expression and creativity. I emphasize the role of the unconscious and the value of self-reflection in personal growth. Deep-seated change can be challenging and, at times, uncomfortable—but entering willingly into this process can lead to a revitalized relationship with ourselves, others, and the wider world.
Initial consultation
The initial consultation is an opportunity to get a sense of whether we might work well together. If we appear to be a match, a regular time will be scheduled for us to meet and you will be charged for the initial consultation. If we are not a fit, I will offer you a referral and you will not be charged for the consultation.
Sessions
Clients typically attend sessions once or twice a week. Sessions last 45-50 minutes and will begin and end promptly at the agreed upon time.
Payment
Payment is by cash or check only and is due at the end of each calendar month.
Insurance
I qualify as an out-of-network provider with many insurance companies and can provide documentation to help with reimbursement.
Licensure
I am licensed to practice as a psychoanalyst in New York State, in connection with which I also hold the Diagnostic Privilege which qualifies me to diagnose and treat. In the UK I am registered as a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, and am a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
Cancellations
I have a strict 24 hour cancelation policy. Clients are accountable to pay for all missed sessions where less than 24 hours notice is provided.
